Not knackered or tired or anything after the latest run but...phew. It's still really hard work and I'm now contending with the voices singing in my ears, saying that this was all folly. At the same time I suppose I've got to keep telling myself that it's only the sixth run I've done and I've been dormant on the exercise front (apart from the occasional spin on the bicycle) since February.

Don't know whether or not it's the first week back but work really has picked up. My desk has been nowhere near clear for the past three days - this hasn't ever happened before AND the invoicing is already trickling in for January. I don't mind - I'd prefer to be working hard rather than dormant but it's a bit of a shock to the system.

Went over to R's last night with Brother Minor for whisky - which ended up with us eating a lot of belgian chocolate, drinking tea and playing Cluedo. I still like Cluedo best of all board games but I'm afraid that I'm not very good at it when tired. S was over and we partook of his Dalmore 15yo, and very nice it was too. I am usually a great fan of the Islay whiskies - Dalmore is very different, in that you don't feel as if you are chewing on a block of peat. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Have finally thought of something to do regarding New Years Self Improvement - apart from the running obviously. Will post about it later on.

friends, exercise, work
