Summer Reading

I'll admit it. I like chick-lit. Really there is nothing better than zoning out to a book for a short while and reading about "strong" women who all end up crying and hoping for a guy to save them. Iclude drunken antics and the occasional british accent and you have a world class chick lit book.

Don't judge... you read them too.

Anyway, to go along with my goal of reading 30 books this summer (which wasn't a problem until I grew up and had to start working for a living), I picked up a random chick lit book yesterday.

English As a Second Language by Megan Crane is a very funny book. And not because the main character is completely emotionally unavailable. Well, okay, that's the main reason. I liked her.

The plot is simple. Girl dates guy who pisses her off. Girl sets off to England to prove a point. Girl finds fantastic new friends and plently of drama. Girl has English lads o'plently. Girl gets frustrated and pissed off. Girl has drunken sex. Girl gets angry. Girl has sober sex. Girl finds happiness.

Simple, yes. Perdicatable, yes. But still incredibly funny and witty. So, if you are a fan of chick-lit, I suggest picking this book up.
