Lost- Song Fic Challenge

Jun 06, 2010 20:42

So. Put your iPod, iTunes, whatever on shuffle AFTER you pick your ships. Then write a drabble per song, with only the amount of time in the song to write it. The name of the song is the name of the drabble.

Ships:
Alex/Keamy
Claire/Titus!MiB
Jacob/Richard
Jacob/Ana Lucia
Kate/Ben
Jack/Alex
Jack/Boone

Desert Lands by Trading Yesterday
Jacob/Richard
Jacob could never understand how much he meant to Richard, because no one, not in a thousand years, had ever meant anything to Jacob. But here, on this island- they were all the other had, most of the time. Oh, occasionally, there would be others- brought on ships and, later, planes- but in the great in between it was just the two of them, sitting on a beach next to a crackling fire and staring up into the star-spotted sky as Richard tried to tell Jacob that he'd give his soul for him to win.

And then he'd try to remember when it started mattering to him so much.

"Jacob," he said, one night, one night before it all went to hell, three nights before Oceanic 815 crashed on the island, one rare night when Richard had been able to sneak away from Ben and the others.

Jacob looked over at him, slowly, and Richard's courage faltered.

He'd never get the chance.

Corpus Christi Carol by Jeff Buckley
Claire/MiB
Loving him was her religion, because it was all she had left. She remembered the flashes, but just barely- she remembered Christian, but she didn't, too- what she did remember were arms and a black shirt and piercing blue eyes as a man she'd never seen before laid her down in the jungle and held her when she cried and screamed for Aaron, for Charlie, for Jack, her brother-

"It was never supposed to be this way," he told her, and she believed him.

Flowers For  A Ghost by Thriving Ivory
Jack/Boone
You don't know what you got till it's gone.

Jack had lost a lot of things. His wife. His faith. His hope. His father.

His life. And then, he lost Boone, and he couldn't help but find it ironic that he didn't know what the blue-eyed boy had meant to him until he was burying him.

He stood by the grave in silence, the beach deserted, the cross ironic and sad and it didn't represent the man buried underneath the sand. Jack put the flower next to the cross and gave an awkward smile and chuckle.

"I was never big on flowers," he said to the grave. "Thought they were cheap and... cliche."

The breeze swirled around him, laughing and playful. "I miss you," said Jack, because it was the truth and because there was nothing else to say.

There was a silence between the two dead men.

"See you soon."
-
On Oceanic Flight 815, in a world where the island was on the bottom of the ocean, Jack opened his eyes and felt something inside him let go.

Bridge Over Troubled Water by Johnny Cash and Fiona Apple
Ana Lucia/Jacob
It started with the dreams of a tall blonde man with ancient and piercing blue eyes. He stood in front of her in a dark room, an old stone room and a fire in the middle, with his hands hanging loosely at his sides and said nothing.

She said nothing too

Then she died.
-
He stood in front of her again, except this time they were on a beach, a sunny beach, and she had a half-healing hole in her chest. He didn't say anything and she didn't either, until he moved forward to her, silently, his eyes burning into hers, and put a hand on her face, looking down at her, down into her, and she looked back up at him, her mouth opening slightly.

Then she burst into tears and fell into his arms.

My Life Would Suck Without You by Kelly Clarkson
Kate/Ben
There was a knock on the door, not late at night, but early in the morning, about ten. Kate left Aaron, now fifteen months old, at the table, and went to it and answered.

Then slammed it shut it Benjamin Linus' face.
-
He came back, the next day, at the same time, and this time she swore at him and told him never to come back before slamming the door again.
-
He approached her, a week later, in the Supermarket, and she punched him before stalking away.
-
Three months later she was attacked in an alley (so cliche) and she didn't like to think of the way things might have ended if he hadn't been there, hadn't swooped in with that stupid little baton of his and then carried her, half conscious, back home.

She remembered that, but just barely.
-
He knocked on her door again the next morning, and this time, she grabbed him by the collar, slammed him against the yellow wall of her house and kissed him till neither of them could see straight.

Wicked Games by Heather Nova
Jack/Alex
It started because he wanted to make Ben angry, wanted to piss him off so bad he couldn't see straight.

The girl with the wild hair and pretty eyes and young body presented a perfect opportunity.
-
But it was her that brushed up against him, the first day of that week he spent with the Others, her that sent him a dark and glinting smile from under long lashes, and Jack's breath caught.
-
The next time they were alone together, she put a little hand on his chest and he felt like he was on fire.
-
The day after that, he pinned her to a wall and kissed her, a hand on the back of her head and an arm wrapped around her waist, her little hands on the sides of his face, her cheeks burning and her eyes dark.
-
Juliet caught them, and she promised she wouldn't tell Ben, even though Jack wanted her too.

Alex was the one who begged, and it didn't suit her.
-
"This world is only gonna break your heart," Jack told her, the night before they were gonna leave, him and Juliet, and she kissed him lingeringly on the lips.

"No body loves no one," she whispered.

Two weeks later, she was dead.

All These Lives by Daughtry
Alex/Keamy
They were each others' salvation. It was just a pity they didn't live long enough to figure it out.

But hearts made for each other will eventually find each other, and Benjamin Linus was forced to watch, even in limbo, after his friends had gone, as his daughter fell in love with the man who'd killed her even as he, Ben, fell in love with Alex's mother.
-
She found him-Martin- by the side of the rode, bloody and broken, and dragged him into the back of her car and drove him home.
-
Ben and Danielle came home to find a shirtless monster of a man unconscious on the couch as Alex knelt over him with a wet cloth and a bottle of water.

Ben stared as Danielle dived for the phone.

"He told me not to call 911," said Alex calmly.

Ben couldn't help a snort, staring at the man he'd killed, the man who'd killed Alex and her mother. "I bet he did," he said, and Alex gave him an odd look.

These are so much fun to do! I've already done some for True Blood and I'll probably do some for Supernatural soon. I hope you like them!
