I had a weird feeling in my throat yesterday, I noticed it when I was visiting my parents in the evening. It felt as if my throat was dry, as if I was thirsty. My mom gave me some orange juice, but it didn't ease the feeling.

Later the day I realized I am getting a sore throat, I guess I am going to have the flu soon. It sucks big monkey balls, but I'm glad it's been three months since my last flu; when I lived in my last apartment, I used to get the flu about every month, and I even had the flu when I moved into this apartment. Bleh.

Once home, it was a late evening. I was updating my journal, surfing on the Internet and planning to have a proper wash before heading to bed, but all of a sudden I lost interest in everything, so I erased my writing and went to bed without having a wash.

I had very bad dreams, in one of them I was naked in a public place and men harassed me, and another was a Doctor Who themed nightmare; it was something like me, the Doctor and his companions in Martinlaakso train station, we were supposed to solve a mystery or something but there was something sinister in the air that made people lose their minds and babble weird words.
In another dream I had slit my wrists and had to go to an emergency room, and suddenly I became nine months pregnant and had to give birth and my vagina tore all the way to my butthole, and when a doctor walked by his hand touched me, it made me lose my balance and I fell to the floor and broke into thousand pieces like an eggshell.

I got up extremely early because I got sick of having nightmares and my sore throat kept me awake; I took my meds and dressed up, then I realized it was too early (quarter to five o'clock) so I went back to sleep and got up later.

I spent most of the day inside, puttering around my apartment and doing odd jobs and housework.
I ironed a pillowcase, paid a bill, smoothed out the creases of my bed linen and put them neatly into the cupboard, cooked lunch, took out the recycling, washed a load of laundry, burned the last stick of melon nutmeg incense, put some badges into my backpack...

I didn't feel like going for a walk or a bike ride, I would only exhaust myself and that wouldn't help me recover from the flu at all.

Anyway, later the day I decided to go outside because I was getting mighty bored.
I took the bus 51 to Pakkala and visited the shopping mall Jumbo, but I got bored quickly.
I took the bus 652 to Helsinki and got bored there as well, so I took the bus 453 to Martinlaakso and went to see my mom. Now that my dad is in the hospital because of the cancer, my mom is very lonely without him so I have to visit her every once in a while.

Now that I think about it, I could have stayed at home a little later. I felt shameful for spending too much of the meager fares on my travel card and besides, I could have washed the dishes, attached more favorite badges into my backpack, read books or watched movies, but then again, I'm glad I managed to spend enough time.

While waiting for my mom to come home, I took a shower. Usually I feel a bit queasy about taking a shower at my parents' place, but I reason that it's my childhood home anyway, I have taken many showers ever since we moved there when I was ten years old.
Mom came home when I was pondering if I should use the lemon & honey conditioner that's meant for blonde hair.

I shaved my armpits and blow- dried my hair, something I haven't done for a while.

I took the bus 510 to Myyrmäki and went for some late shopping; I bought a knitted red- and- white striped miniskirt from Hennes & Mauritz, and then went to Citymarket to buy biodegradable garbage bags, sanitary pads (I'm going to buy a MoonCup this month, but my girlfriends might need pads when they visit me), and a new toothbrush.

I noticed that I had lost the purse where I keep my cards (library cards, discount cards, membership cards, more or less important cards), I was getting super worried but once I came home, I found it from one of the drawers in my working desk. Whew!
