TV meme day 24
Day 24 - Best quote
Oh, come on, this is just impossible. If the candidates to some of these questions are in the dozens, this one is literally in the thousands. All I can do is pick one quote I really really like and dub it the best one for this particular post.
Hence, I pick a line from the season 2 Reaper opener, in which Sam tries to summon the Devil:
"It worked!?"
"Not so much, sport. I just wanted to tell you that your pentagram is actually a Star of David. Mazel tov!"
It's so very gorgeous - and really telling. It shows Sam for the clumsy (yet oddly endearing) loser he is, and how he tries to one-up the Devil constantly and just can't seem to do it. (Well, at least not with a shitload of help from his friends and a few risen demons.) It shows the Devil's used-car-salesman charm, wicked sense of humour, and how he'll occasionally accomodate Sam just because. And in the rest of the scene, we get the Devil making that jarring switch from affable to intimidating.
Ray Wise's Devil was always a joy to watch, and this is a prime example of why. Also, it's just plain funny.
And since the post needs a picture, here's a delicious one that I found on a DVD review:
