Psych shortfic beta needed

Nov 11, 2009 20:26

I've just written a short (~800 words) fic for the Psych Rare Pairings & Gen Commentathon. The fic is just about long enough that I'd prefer to have a beta reader for it. It's based on the prompt Gus, five things he keeps alphabetized. Anyone willing, please?

beta request, psych

If you have no volunteers, I can do it. I just don't have much faith in myself as a reviewer today.

Aw! Thanks, I'll send it over. Mostly I just want to make sure I'm not speaking Swenglish and being completely OOC.

Rhi, I haven't heard from you. Did you get the email?

OMG. Yes! I did. And I read through, and thought up comments, then saw something shiney...

Crap!

Thanks for the comments! And you're absolutely right about the buttons - I don't have enough buttons myself to categorize them in any particular way, which is why I didn't think that far. Should I change it? And if so, what could I have instead? (The trouble with this prompt is that, as a librarian, I think alphabetization is a sucky stand-alone method for most things.)

Reasonably, he wouldn't have his entire record collection alphabetized, just like his books. But I would imagine that Gus has a special collection - such as "Hits of the 80's" that is separate, and simply alphabetized.

Though "Hits of the 80's" is too bland, and I'm not music-savvy enough to come ujp with somethng Gus-like.

Pharmaceutical reps get a lot of free pens. Perhaps he keeps a collection.

Maybe he keeps a little momento from each state he visits - the common usuals are shot glasses, spoons, magnets, and patches. Maybe Gus has something more interesting? I happen to like to stop at public rest areas along highways and pick up the little travel brochures there.

Um... does that create any ideas?
