In local news: Husband and wife are going through a messy divorce. Husband is about to go on a business trip to the US. Wife takes ill and asks him to cancel the trip to take care of the kids. Husband says no. Wife's parents call husband and threaten him with various nasty things if he doesn't cancel the trip. He still says no.
Daddy-in-law decides to e-mail the FBI telling them that husband is a terrorist. When husband reaches the border, he is arrested, put in a cell "covered with blood and excrements" (what sort of cells do you guys have!?) questioned and eventually sent back home. Furious, he starts investigating the thing and finds out that daddy-in-law is the one who's sent the mail. (This is also confirmed with th IP address.) Since he wants to be able to go back to the US at some point in his life, he presses charges.
Daddy-in-law admits to sending the email and defends himself by saying that, "I didn't think the authorities would be so fucking stupid that they believed something like that. But I guess they are."
Yeah. Here's the thing with the FBI: they have to take these things seriously, because if they don't, people could die. Kind of like how the 911 people can't go, "That sounded like a prank call, better not bother to send an ambulance."
Am I a bad person for hoping daddy-in-law gets bitch-slapped REALLY HARD by the FBI?

roseveare has been nagging at me forever to get into FullMetal Alchemist. I've consistently replied, "Yeah, whatever, when I have the time." Until now.
I have seen 4 eps, and the only reason I haven't seen more is because DL-ing is slow. I love this show. It's exciting and funny and sad and sometimes kind of scary. I tried watching in Japanese, but it was too much work, so now I'm watching in English, even though I'm not wild about Ed's voice. (It's too old and way too teen hunk.)
I love the brothers, and I love that they made a seven foot iron armour the sweet and optimistic one, while the tiny bishonen boy is a cynical mass of aggressive energy who'll punch you in the face for looking at him the wrong way.
I might be weird, because I can't help thinking they're a bit like the Winchesters. Dead mom, missing dad. Taking over dad's profession. Previously mentioned huge looming younger guy who's sweet and optimistic, kind of believes in God, wants to save kitties and puppies because it's the right thing to do. Previously mentioned smaller, older guy who's pretty as a sunset but cynical and foul-mouthed and really interested in killing things. Both of them completely prepared to give up anything and everything to make sure the other one is all right. Younger one already having been saved from certain death by older one sacrificing part of himself.
There's much less manly angsting, though, of which I'm really grateful. Don't get me wrong, I love to see Jensen cry as much as the next gal, but I really don't want to see Ed doing chick flick moments. *Shudders at the thought.*
