I popped into Stadshallen to get some tickets to Fantastisk FilmFestival. Took me five and a half hours to get them.

Fortunately, having registered beforehand, I didn't actually have to stand in line. I just got a number (93), left the building since I had to take care of other business, returned two hours later (52) and then kept returning from time to time. But from nine o'clock to sometime before ten, I was actually waiting around for my number to come up. Since more than one person could use the same number, I collected a whole crowd of friends and friends-of-friends that used my number because their own came later - I think we turned out to be six people on one number in the end.

But hey, I got the tickets! Having some limit to how many films I can see in ten days, I chose five films: the "safe cards" Howl's Moving Castle, MirrorMask and Serenity that I want to see whether they're good or not, and the "wild cards" Ainoa and Bubba Hotep, that just seemed like fun. (I considered Spirit Trap but decided against it because no one else wanted to go, it showed in the middle of the night, and it seemed scary. Not really looking forward to going home alone after a scary film.) I didn't choose any Terry Gilliam films - the only one that really interested me was Brazil, and that aired at a bad time for me. Having heard so many bad things about the Brothers Grimm, I figured I could wait until that hits the ordinary cinemas.
