Hey, everyone! I figured since that last transmission, trying a few different things would be helpful, and the less we duplicate each other the better. Our time's better used in doing different things, when we're looking for some sort of response from whoever we heard from.

Are there enough of those to establish a pattern for when flares are set off? We do want it to be known that we want their attention.

I have another six back in my tent, and I'm pretty sure everyone gathering supplies out of the ship have at least another dozen. Did you get a chance to run an inventory on the stuff you were helping pull out?

Yes, though the major part of it consists of necessities for survival. We've listed the more random things brought back under 'miscellaneous'. Should I look for more flares?

I think we can't be hurt by doing so. Even if... [ she trails off, then banishes the uncertainty. ] Even if the flares aren't the answer, they could be useful for us in guiding them down when we do attract their attention.

You will need to give me a brief description of the modern flare gun and ammunition.

Visuals might help better. Most cases have the gun and two flares, which should look something like these.

I can come find you to add another set of eyes to the search. I was planning to observe what happens here for a bit longer, but then it's back to the drawing board for immediate solutions or attempts at contact.

That shouldn't be necessary. I will have them sorted together for you to pick up. If there are enough, it would be best if we could send off flares at evenly spaced intervals over several days.
