Happy Thanksgiving to those of you in the U.S. who celebrate it, and a very happy Thursday to the rest of y'all.
Just wanted to pop in and give a life update. Grandma's funeral is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, November 30th, and my parents have purchased a plane ticket for me to fly back to Maryland so that I can pay my final respects to a woman who was always the epitome of style, grace, manners, and strength. My flight leaves at 6:30 on Tuesday morning and I'll arrive in Baltimore around 11:20 or so to meet Daddy and my older sister who's also flying up (only she's flying out from Miami, so she gets to go through the good airports). My return flight is Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 out of Baltimore, and if I don't get fucked over in Charlotte again I'll be back in Tally at around 7:45 in the evening.
I'm glad that my parents were able to buy a ticket for me, because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to go. It will be nice to see the rest of the family again, even if I wish the circumstances were a hell of a lot better, and Grandma's already with Pappy again so all that's really left is to lay her body to rest next to his.
(Anyone wondering why the fuck my grandparents, who spent their golden years in Florida, are buried in Maryland, it's because they wanted to be buried in the place where they raised their 7 children. My parents are also likely to be buried in the same cemetery when they pass, but I'm planning to be cremated after the doctors get any organs out of me that are useful to someone and have them scattered in the Appalachians.)
Anyway, just wanted to let y'all know what's what. Needless to say, I'm pretty much dropping my plan to try and finish up my h/c bingo card for NaNo, and I'm dropping back to my previous goal. So my final count for NaNo is below:
7951 / 8500 words. 94% done!
