(no subject)
I am currently at a buddhist commune in northern colorado called shambhala mountain center. i am working in the kitchen here. its pretty chill as far as kitchens are concerned, especially compared to shit like Hideaway. i like it here. amazing people who like to be good to one another.
i set out a couple of weeks ago with my friends todd, ted, michael loveland, michael lortz, margaret, and andrew. we all went to the rainbow gathering which took oplace in a national forest about an hour out of steamboat springs, which was dubbed illegal by the feds but we all made it out without any tickets or citations. it was rather insane. over 10,000 people all coexisting nicely without any monatary exchange(it is possible).
todd and i then parted ways with the rest and came out here. we dont know how long we'll be here but there is no rush to leave. after this i could head out west to CA/OR/WA or possibly eastward towards NY/TN or wherever. its pointless to guess really. i may go back home sometime in august for a minute for the birth of my neice, but that is another thing i am unsure about.
playing guitar out here is really nice. just recently have i been able to be content with just playing acoustic guitar. we know how much i love epic set-ups. but this is a season for me to atleast try to keep it simple. i've come up with some stuff i really like, and i hope to be able to record it soon. there are a few folks out here to collaborate with.
i am pretty concerned with all that is going on in lebanon and israel. it has the potential to turn into something more horrible than it already is. so i have been keeping my ears open about that, while continuing onward with what i do.
i have been coughing a lot lately and keeping myseklf up all night doing so, thus rendering me pretty tired and easily fatigued, but should be going to a doctor in red feather this week to try to get it taken care of. i also cut my finger pretty bad in the kitchen the other day and lost a lot of blood. aside from all of that i am in pretty great spirits. i dont really see myself getting homesick for awhile. OK is great in a lot of ways, but im cashed. love to you all. <3-ry
