It's a positive symbol of the role physical fitness plays in the Air Force culture that the base was filled with excitement because the new gym finally opened yesterday. Apparently we are all a bunch of fitness geeks.
It's been two years and three months since ground breaking. I've only been working here for one year 10 months; they've been building it across the street from my office since I started. I am excited. It is awesome, and it is less than a five minute walk from work. I will not even have to move my car to go there. As far as I know, it is an amazing state of the art gym and definitely a vast improvement of over the two old hangers that served as our old gym and annex. It beats Gold's Gym and now I am trying to figure a way to break the rest of my contract with Gold's. Maybe some faked orders. Just kidding of course. Still I don't expect to spend much time at Gold's now. The only draw Gold's has for me is the hot tub, and I never even spent much time in the hot tub there.
Anything that motivates me to spend more time in the gym is a good thing. I just don't have enough time in the day to work out as much as I'd like. I wish I could be on the TV show The Biggest Loser. I don't need to lose very much weight, but it would be great to be able to devote all day to nothing but fitness and have a personal trainer who devotes all of her time to me. I could drop my excess weight so quickly I could leave the show after a few weeks at my ideal weight if that were my only job. There's just not enough time in the day for me to devote to everything I'd like to do. I wish I had a Tardis; that would solve a lot of my time management problems.
