Wow! I have to thank
scieppan who managed to organize all of our donations in under 48 hours. Plus, the rest of the crew has been working behind the scenes emailing like crazy to get the word out.
You can view the items and the dates that they go up for bid here
http://www.ravenclaw.us/katrinaskeepers.htm .
The first items will be up for bid, as promised, next Thursday. (Bidding information found here
http://www.livejournal.com/community/katrinaskeepers/751.html ).
Since we do have a week before we get off the ground, I want to be sure that we are error free. Can all donors to do the following:
1) Please double-check that we did not make any error as to the description (or otherwise) of your item(s). Between all the posts on multiple journals and the over 200 emails we've received, it's possible we unintentionally missed or misrepresented something.
2) Please give us a digital photo of your item (if applicable) even if it is just a work in progress so people have an idea as to what they'll be getting. You can email the photos to cow_girl_2003 at livejournal.com
3) I know many of you have done this, but please help continue to help with the publicity. The majority of our items are not Harry Potter specific, so they'll appeal to a wide variety of people. If you are a member of any LJ community where the mods will allow a charity related post, please let them know about us. Feel free to use this sample post by
cow_girl_2003 is you want:
"The LJ Community has the opportunity to take part in an online auction benefiting the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund. There is plenty of time to play the politcial blame game, but people need our help NOW and what better way to help them but to bid on wonderful items such as baked goods, writing (public domain and original fiction), art, customized LJ layouts, craft items such as hand made coptic journals/jewelry/knit goods, and more! 100% of the funds generated will go charity.
If you are interested in bidding on items once the auction is under way, please check out
