Holiday Update

Whilst apologising for not coming to my party and returning my lasagna pan, I learned from Louis, a good friend of mine who happens to be Jewish, that their festivities began on the 12th, and then eight days of Channukah? I'm sure I butchered that - I apologise. And I believe the winter solstice was either the 20th or 21st - I can't really recall. Although I DO know that, two hours ago, it was Christmas eve, a Thursday evening that was filled with cookies, finger food, and hand and foot (a crazy card game I'm sure someone made up at a party one night, only to be passed on to us at some point - I might share the details of the game at a later date) and when the game ended at nearly one in the morning, presents came down. Not that any of them had been wrapped except for in their own retail packaging or postaged wrappings, but it was still a joy to see my father bless me with a crate of small parcels specially for me. "This is the first batch," he says, placing it on the table. "I suspect the rest shall be coming in later."

Well, late or not, I do love presents. ^-^ We're off to see my grandmother Saturday (well, tomorrow), and then I'm sure she'll doubtless spoil us as well, and shower gifts and/or cash on us, as will our uncles, and then home for new year's to spend with my father's new wife. It's all terribly confusing, and I'm sad to say that Tony shan't be able to join us, but I was happy to find that the clown chat had not yet ended, and would like to share with you my newly acquired literatures.

First of all, in compliment to my collections of Poe and Shakespeare last year, I now have a collection of the Sherlock Holmes stories for my furthering education in classic literature. Also, Bruce Campbell's 'If Chins Could Kill' - I do love my Bruce Campbell. He's getting quite a break these days, and I'm very happy for him. Afterward, two of  the Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica (written by coppervale ), Here, There Be Dragons (which I'm certain is the first one), and the Indigo King, which I know is one of the later ones, if not the latest. I'll have to check. I also now have more of Gregory MacGuire's books, adding to Wicked (which I'm not sure where it is, at the moment) Son of the Witch, Lost, Mirrors, and Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. ^-^ Happy reading, eh?!
