Roma: 10 favorite things

Jul 04, 2009 13:04

I am in Rome! Here is a quick list of my 10 favorite things about Rome (so far).

1. I really do like learning new languages. Sto imparando il italiano velocemente. [I am learning Italian quickly].

2. The cobblestone streets are just the cutest things that I have ever seen. The streets are narrow and wind between the beautiful buildings.

3. There are about 2048920 cafes on any given street in Roma. It is picture perfect. Almost ALL of them have outdoor seating. It is great! Wonderful sidewalk cafes on cobblestone streets. Does it get any better than that?

4. Italian wine = Amazing and CHEAP

5. Gelato. Seriously, best icecream I have had in my life.

6. Italian boys are SOOOO my type.

7. I really like eating pasta and pizza. Not gonna lie.

8. The makeshift bars [aka decks and tents] by the Tiber are really fun and really pretty. We have gone to a hooka bar twice, which is kind of funny because it's a moroccan place. But I really like it! :)

9. The coffee is freakin' amazing. I order a cafe latte or a capuccino, and it is soooo much better than coffee here. Seriously, it seems crazy to me, even after a week, that I have been drinking watered down coffee my whole life.

10. Everywhere you turn, there is something beautiful to see. I have taken 300 pictures so far!

Funny story: We went to a restaurant for dinner last night, and we didn't know what some of the things on the menu were. I ordered a lasagna dish, and our roommate Gwen ordered ravioli. Ingela ended up ordering cheese. That's right folks, she ordered "Parmagiana Rosso", literally translating as Red Parmagian. She didn't actually think that she would just get a plate of cheese. Well, it was freakin good cheese - but it was just a plate of cheese.  :) Next time, we will take our little menu decoder.
