SCOTT PILGRIM VS THE WORLD

Was... no other word for it: AWESOME. And YES, an Epic of Epicness.

I will admit I had doubts and reservations. I was not one of the excited hordes. The source material, the style--I wasn't sure how it would be carried off in cinematic form, and the trailers didn't really win me over. I wondered if it would be too cheesy, too silly, too glib, too shallow, too niche, too tiring. I wondered if it could actually be truly good.

It was better.

I would go see it again. Tomorrow. In a heartbeat.

I would see it on a boat, I would see it in a coat. I would see it with a bear, I would see it in your chair.

I still don't get why Michael Cera is THAT popular and technically don't like how they did Ramona's hair, but stuff like that doesn't really matter when it is THAT GOOD. Seriously. So, so, so good.

And for the T-Rex fans on my friends-list: there was totally a totally awesome soundtrack shout-out. I knew then the movie had me. Not so much because it was a T-Rex song, but because it was a carefully chosen song from one of their later and critically panned albums that most people, including T-Rex fans, don't really bother with. But it was the one really good song from that album. Knowledge, discernment and taste!
