I have to admit, I'm really happy about this. I voted early afternoon, and then did some last minute canvassing/getting out the vote actions till 7, and then headed over to
a_priori's house to watch the coverage. It really does feel like a momentous historical event, and I feel privileged to be part of it.
McCain's concession speech was extremely gracious and well-done as well, especially his opening remarks. I was impressed, and glad that he finished his race on such a good note.
ETA: When I came back to New Brunswick, it turned out that an impromptu parade had sprung up, with singing and chanting and 400 people at peak time. It was pretty great. :-)
