Oooooh.
There's a Law & Order on right now that's about the head of a university being murdered over which professor gets to chair the American Studies department. It's awesome. The murdered guy is this white dodgery old-time type, and the supects are:
a) A scruffy, beleguared, perpetually lost-looking grad student unable to finish his dissertation
b) a bossy-seeming female (lesbian) professor who insists she won't be promoted because the president took her "critique of patriarchy in the academia" a bit too hard (now I know how the phrenology enthusiasts felt while reading Jane Eyre)
c) a popular black professor, who spends a lot of time on talk shows, distributing CDs, etc, and seems to be famous but doesn't actually hang around campus much, and threatens to sue for discrimination if he isn't given the position.
This has the potential to be both really offensive and really funny.
Also: I had bubble tea today! Soy milk hot fruit bubble tea. I might have to get it every week now, which will make me poor. But... it's tapioca bubbles! In fruity milk tea!
