I always feel stupid updating this thing, which is why it rarely happens ... so I'm forcing myself to this time.
Things are good. I ended up being depressed for about two months, but figure it's the lack of sunlight doing a good-sized chunk of that. The Solstice is over, the world didn't end, and that part should be getting better.
We got most of our family visiting done the Saturday before Christmas, and that turned out to be a good thing, because I spent Christmas morning in the emergency room. The people in the ER were amazing and really nice.
They found a kidney stone hanging out up by my left kidney. (note to any would be organ poachers: mine are defective. Just move along.) And then I got to wake my parents up with a phone call of: "Hi. I'm in the Emergency Room at [hospital]. Can you come get me?" And they did, because my parents are awesome. Later, they came over for Christmas lunch and brought me food and presents from my brother.
He got me a box of pepperidge farm cookies, and a cute apron. I ate far too many of those cookies once I realized they were something I could keep down.
That said, I hope everyone had a great holiday! Merry Christmas and on to the new year!
