So, the one lead in my downstairs bathroom ceiling seems to be gone. I accidentally left the water on one morning (I've been switching it off at the main unless I was home and genuinely needed it.) and came home expecting a mess in the bathroom. But ... nope. Not so much as a drip. So I left the water on, and I've been watching it. No leak for the last several days.
I'm not sure how to feel about this, honestly. Grateful but mystified? Leaky pipes don't fix themselves, but apparently mine did. That, or it's luring me into a false sense of security.
I'm watching you, leak.
Tonight is going to be culinary adventure night. Because work has been a bit difficult, and cooking relaxes me, dangit. I'm going to make Navajo Tacos. Mom knows about this plan and fully endorses my efforts in her behalf.
For anyone that's not from the West/Southwest part of the country, Navajo Tacos are disks of fried dough (Navajo Fry Bread) with taco meat, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, onions, olives, guacamole ... basically whatever you'd typically put on a taco. They are fantastic. I may actually bake my dough instead of frying it, so it's a bannock instead of Navajo fry bread. That would be a healthier, and won't use as many paper towels.
And, anything we don't turn into the main dish can be introduced to some creamed blackberry honey that I have. Or powdered sugar. Or homemade jam. And lo, it shall be good. Also, cheap. And versatile. And my coworkers who are all drinking diet shakes for lunch are going to be plotting my murder.
But hey, if this works, I'll post pictures and the recipes used. Pretty sure I have other kitchen mad scientists lurking out there. And it should work. My bread curse doesn't extend to quick breads. So it should work!
