Spiders scare the holy begeezus out of me!

Apr 26, 2010 20:05

There's a really big, really ugly, really dark and scary spider on my ceiling.  I am quite panicky.  And it knows.  It knows very well that I'm scared of it and it's taunting me.  It knows that I want it dead.  It scuttled across the ceiling and is hiding in a crack where a light fixture meets the ceiling.  It's now peeking out and we're having a ( Read more... )

you can do it! I'll provide back up (despite being rather terrified of spiders myself)

One of my sorority sisters hated cockroaches and when she found a Palmetto Bug in her apartment, she killed it by spraying it gratuitously with hairspray.

I usually just squish them with shoes, because my family dubbed me the official Spider Swatter.

You are brave and I really wish you were here to squish it for me. I can squish them fine on the ground or on the wall-- but I get flaily when they're on the ceiling, because I think they'll drop on me or something. And I'm oddly serene about insects-- not like I want to go all Fear Factor and bathe in bugs or anything, but those I can handle. It's just the spiders. *dashes to grab can of hairspray just in case*

Aah, I feel your pain! I don't know if reading this will make you laugh, feel inspired, or freak out more, but I had an exciting animal encounter a while back that I had to take care of on my own (as SO was out of town at the time).

Good luck! You can do eeet!!

Oh my word! That would be so traumatizing! *checks sofa cushions furtively* What a great story-- way after the fact but I would have been so freaked out too! And there would have been lots of feminist-facepalm-inducing shrieking and flailing and hiding involved on my part.

The spider is now hiding in the damn light fixture and that scares me far more than when it's out and visible. Where I can, you know, monitor it. I kind of hope it comes out, even though I never want to see it again, because I hate the idea that it could be anywhere or emerge at anytime and kill me in my sleep or lay an entire nest of mutant spiders or something. *shudders* Thanks!

Hmm, if it's trapped in the light fixture, can you climb on a chair and spray some Raid in on it?

You can do it! I have faith in you. This spider is nothing but a dirty little bug compared to you. It can do nothing against your weapons. Slay it! *cheers*

Girl on girl action is always welcome and will definitely keep my mind off the fact that there may be more spiders lurking in secret nooks and crannies of my condo. So excited! (about your story, the spiders not even a little bit)

WELL it's totally been posted if you like the distraction haha<3
A friend of mine once sent me a picture of a spider and I told her to name it (I enjoy spiders:x), and she texts back with, "Er, yeah, okay. I'll call it 'the departed'."
