Holy frak-- please don't kill me with your backpack!

I got my face slammed into a bulkhead today.  It hurt.  A lot.  A particularly oblivious passenger ignored that I was standing there helping a first class passenger and proceeded to push by me with her backpack of evil strapped to her clueless back.  My face was absolutely smashed between her enormous backpack and the bulkhead, knocking my glasses

Yowch! You guys have a rough enough job IMHO without getting beaten up by passengers. :-/ Hope you're resting up with some ice!

It is rough some days, but it's usually more mental/verbal abuse. I don't usually get beat up by pax, cuz it's kinda illegal! The thing is, she didn't even notice! She wouldn't have even known how hard she hit me if one of my first class pax hadn't jumped up all 'omg! are you ok?' cuz I looked like I probably had birds flying about my head. It doesn't hurt anymore-- but my cheek is still all red and abrasion-y. Thanks for the love-- *loves back* :D

I know, right! And I know that she didn't mean to, that there was no malicious intent, and that she just genuinely did not realize how much room her backpack took up, but still! argh! My 'don't worry about it, it's fine' sounded pretty stiff and forced at the time, but by the time we deplaned in Chicago 3 1/2 hours later I felt better enough to offer my usual bright reassuring 'no worries!' platitudes. Bah, stupid people are stupid. *sigh* Thanks for the solidarity and YAY we're friends now! *is happy* (and, as usual, a bit wordy...)
