I Love This Town!
I am in Sidney, British Columbia and all I can say is "I LOVE THIS TOWN!" So incredibly charming! This was my first time doing the Victoria overnight and I'm completely smitten. We stay at a hotel right on the water-- it's beautiful. I wish I had more time here and that I were here on a weekday, because a lot of places were closed on Sunday.
I walked up and down the main street, which is just lovely. There are loads of adorable little shops and cafes. Alas, I could only peer into the windows of all the amazing looking used bookstores that make up the famous Booktown. I breakfasted at Bistro Suisse, which was a wonderfully cozy little Swiss cafe. Great atmosphere, unbelievably delicious food. There was a coffee shop called Serious Coffee that I stopped into and desperately wanted a cup of Trekie Blend coffee! (that was their coffee of the day, no joke!) Unfortunately, their card machine was broken and I only had $1.23 Canadian on me, so I had to make do with another coffee shop down the street, which did not have Trekie coffee but did take Visa. *sigh* Got a few scrumptious brioche at a bakery for later on today.
Best overnight I've had in a good, long while!
