There's Something Wrong With You Kids

Oct 10, 2006 01:04

Something's bugging me, so now you're going to get a faceful of hot, sticky rant.

Sometimes, my generation really, really pisses me off. I mean, compared to generations before us, 95% of us are lazy, ignorant, and worst of all, that 95% of you are content.

"What?" you ask me, "content?"

Yes, content. You don't give a damn about the world, and it makes me sick. You don't vote, you don't question, you don't challenge, you don't care. Your music, your language, your clothes, your hair, your cliques, your drugs, your hobbies...none of it is done for the sake of bucking the system and provoking some much-needed changes. You do it because it's tough, you do it because you're ignorant, you do it because you spend all your time staring at a magazine cover, you do it because you saw it on Make-Your-Own-Pop-Celebrity Jane, you do it because they're as stupid as you, you do it because of peer pressure, you do it because it's what daddy wants you to do.

I mean, our parents and even some of our grandparents knew how to rock the establishment to it's Garrison Issue, Norman Rockwell pillars. Even the Eisenhower-era kids cared, albeit in a very tame manner. You punks don't even give a damn.

You're superficial and vain. You're the bend-over-and-take-it-because-American-Idol-is-on Generation. And you disgust me.

For such a silent majority, you guys make a lot of noise, too. It's just not newsworthy noise. It's market-it-and-sell-it noise. Nothing is even your own. It's marketed to you by a 600-store chain operated out of the City of Industry, California. It's sad, really.

So knock it off.
