herne

We did go to herne after all and had a great time. I stayed up until the wee hours of Saturday to finish my gown and Barny's jacket so they were wearable. Since I worked on Friday evening, I had no choice, really. Shhhh, I didn't and don't tell anyone otherwise.

I did make the sweet bag for her majesty, but instead of embroidery I used scraps of ...get this...zebra printed velvet!!!! I lined it with red silk (as per tradition apparently) and stitched the cording I made along 2 sides. I filled it with gold chocolate coins and the nicest of the braided cords I made. She was extatic and carried the little bag everywhere. She showed me her collection of bags while in her inner sanctum. I'm going ot make her another one, and this time the one I intended for her.

I introduced myself to his majesty, as well after he finished a conversation with Barny encouraging him to join the unbelted team if he ever went to Pennsic again. We had a bit of a chat about how I love to watch Barny fight and he lamented that his wife has no interest in watching him fight. Too bad, when you understand what's going on, it's really quite fascinating. Of course, the point is to understand what's going on, isn't it?

The atmosphere at the event was wonderful. It was very relaxed and I exciting at the same time. We were in a good mood, and, surprisingly, not too tired until about 8pm. Barny fought hard and enjoyed himself. That huge grin on his face gave him away. He loves to gfight despite the bruises he ends up with. By the by, he has a bit of armour maintainance to do this winter...

We wanted to attend the post-rev at Isobel and Guthrith's but started to fade, so we made it back to Robert's (Pete's best friend) and crashed there. Fell asleep in an instant. Woke up feeling refreshed, but, as is usual for the last month, started feeling very sleepy only 2 hours later. I hope this sleepy thing will go away, soon. I'm really tired of feeling tired.

Our next event is local: Yule. It should be pretty good with a few new faces coming together. We'll see.
