I still have yet to compose my own tribute to the amazing, sadly departed Brian Jacques, but quite a few very well written pieces are out there online already. Two I particularly liked and identified with are here and here.

The world has lost a great storyteller. Brian Jacques, the creator of Redwall, has passed away at age 71.

My deepest sympathies to his family. He will definitely be missed. :(

Here's a silly little thing I found jotted down on a piece of scratch paper when I was straightening up my computer desk.

The first half will only mean something if you're familiar with both WoW and my original "Heritage in the Stars" universe, which means...a grand total of two people might understand what the heck I'm talking about. ;)

I finished reading the newest Warcraft novel last night: Beyond the Dark Portal by Aaron Rosenberg and Christie Golden. It was really good, and since I've never had the opportunity to play Warcraft II or its expansion, it was a great way to flesh out my knowledge of that time period.

Here's a sneak peek at the Redwall graphic novel coming out later this yet. I love what I've seen so far. It's not cutesy like the animated series, and it almost has the feeling of a medieval woodcut. And, most importantly, of course, is that I approve of their version of Cluny ( Read more... )

I was too busy obsessing over Warcraft yesterday to write on my fic like I had planned, and I work all afternoon today so I won't be getting any writing done today, either. Which is a shame because the WoW servers are down for maintenance so I wouldn't have that distraction if I were home, writing. Ah well, c'est la vie ( Read more... )

In between pesky RL things like working and less pesky things like Warcraft, I've been working on my Redwall fanfic, "All the Roses Falling."

It's both fun and frustrating that so much of the background information we're given on Cluny the Scourge and his horde is tainted with the sort of details that conflict with later Redwall books.
