*glomps rodents*
This afternoon Dad and I ran to ShopKo for some boring things like toilet paper and creme rinse, and then to Borders. I really needed to get out of the house and away from that half-empty tank. :( I wanted to look for the new Richard Marx CD (which I got, yay!) and the last Peach Girl manga (which wasn't there, boo!) I walked into the store and was browsing the new books when Dad said in an offhand manner, "Hey, Brian Jacques." I looked, and it was the new Redwall novel, Rakkety Tam! O_O I glommed onto a copy immediately. Poor Dad cracked up; he didn't know it was the new one and was totally innocent in pointing it out. XD It was just released yesterday.
I'm only a few chapters in but so far it's uberspiffy. ^_^ It's a Redwall novel, no doubt about it, with the stock characters (Skipper of otters, Foremole, etc.) and cliches that entails, but when it's a series I love as much as this those aren't bad things. It's comforting to have some familiarity. I ♥ Dibbuns. And for the first time we have wolverines! How cool is that? Squee! As always, the descriptions of things like sunrises and snow are vivid and poetic. :) So that was a much-needed treat.
I also got an extremely overpriced bookmark that's like this little clear plastic pouch with water, a few bubbles and a cutout of a goldfish inside. It's hypnotizing. You just sit and squish the goldie back and forth from one end of the bookmark to the other. *is distracted by shiny objects* Heh.
Off to bed now. It's early for me but I still feel like I've been hit by a truck. :\
