Coolness

I had to work two hours this afternoon to fold the library newsletter. Normally I LOATHE doing that because the folding machine is the spawn of the devil. I usually end up re-folding dozens by hand and tossing others. It takes over two hours and I'm so frustrated by the time I'm done I just want to throw the machine off the roof. Well, not today! I don't know why, but for some reason the darn thing worked perfectly this time! o_0 Out of approximately 5000 folds (making a total of 2500 newsletters) it only ruined like 7!!! That's amazing! And we won't have to fold another newsletter until August, because this one is good for the whole summer! Sweet! *dances* Best of all, it only took me 1.25 hours instead of the 2 I had expected. So...woo! :-D

In other good news, I got a graduation gift to myself in the mail today. I actually bought it with the money I got from my Trisha and associated cousins. It's a beautiful coffee table-style book on fancy goldfish, ordered from The Goldfish Connection.. It's written by the webmaster of that site, a.k.a. one of the leading goldfish importers in the country, a.k.a. the guy who makes the Pro-Gold food my babies love so much, a.k.a. Rick Hess. His co-author is Koi Vet's Doc Johnson, so knows more about ornamental carp health that just about anyone in the world. Best of all, the pictures are mainly by the people who run the Hong Kong aquarium where Bruce, the world's longest goldfish, currently resides. The pics are beautiful, and aren't the same old ones from the image bank at T.F.H. like most of the other goldfish books I own. (I have lots!) Very very cool. :-D

Cool thing #3: I finally opened my own checking account today! I hadn't really needed one before, but since I've been making credit card payments it's really been a pain not to have one. So now I do. I still probably won't use it much, but it'll be nice to have.

So, all in all, not a bad day. :-) I still have to work tomorrow afternoon and Saturday afternoon, but at least no more Sundays until after Labor Day. The library is officially on summer hours as of this weekend, which means they're closed on Sundays. :-)

work, mundane rl stuff, fish - goldfish
