i am so incredibly glad that this week (and last week) are over with. final projects suck, term papers suck more. sleep deprivation is lame and make me achey. but it's over, and all i have left are two finals, which for once shouldn't be horrible scrambles to make an A. it feels nice going into finals week with a bit of room to breathe... someone remind me of this in future semesters.

my final project for my cog sci lab turned out well and one of the TAs wants us to follow up on it and try to submit it for the cogsci conference in italy this summer. that's really neat, so i'll probably devote iap to trying to strengthen our results and testing a couple of other things.

my term paper about my mri proposal didn't turn out as beautifully. it's done, but it was 26 hours and 5% of my grade late. i did a decent enough job on it, but nothing stellar enough to make up for my lack of antishyness and class participation throughout the term. oh well.

today was secret santa gift exchange and it was a lot of fun. i'm always afraid that because i like dinosaurs i'll get something like a dinosaur figure thats cute, but totally useless. but it worked out perfectly because i got a dinosaur gift with a practical use! it's a shirt (that's the practical part) with a brontosaurus on it (thats the cute part). i think bethany liked what i got her well enough, and i have no idea if the other person will like her gift, but i told her not to feel bad about exchanging it if she doesn't like it... jonathan wrapped a book he got mike up in a gigantic box with lots of newspaper, and it was really funny to watch. kind of reminds me of past christmases when i've tried to torture sara with bizarre wrapping jobs.

oh... hey, if anyone wants christmas presents from me, i'd be totally happy to get you stuff, but i really hate buying things that people won't like, so just bluntly tell me what you want :)

ok.
this entire weekend is devoted to catching up on sleep.

next week i will be trying to do at least moderately well on my finals.

after that, i'm off to houston. i'm excited about that, but surprisingly, warmer weather didn't really make the list of reasons for excitement this year. i think the winter here has been mild so far. now i'll just have to hope it stays that way.

yay then it'll be iap! i love iap!

sleep, happy, mit
