- In terms of trying to not force friendships, I think that becomes much easier once you're out of school and don't have to see people any more. You'll probably take a big defriending dump on Facebook :P - For eating better, I'd say appreciate the small steps and victories you have, like passing on the free bread or getting to the gym just one day during a really busy week, and not beat yourself up over pitfalls.
- This is just a thought I wanted to throw out there, but my gf REALLY wants to be Rogue for D*C, and since you might not be wearing it then, maybe we can work something out to where I can buy it off your hands once you're done? Ditto for Gambit too if the fit and other details pan out :) I know you make quality costumes, and I'd rather get something from you instead of a random internet stranger.
Actually, it's not kids at my school I'm talking about, it's more people online that make me have this feeling of "Why am I trying so hard???"
My problem with eating better is that I have NO food in my apartment, and I don't cook, so I will go for literally weeks and weeks without eating something green. I also try to do little things like buy salad mix, but I get sick of salads after 3 days, then the rest of the lettuce goes bad, so I never buy it again. @_@
Hmmm... that sounds like a good idea, except that Cliff likes rewearing costumes FAR more than I do, so I'm not sure how HE'll feel about it if we end up making X-men costumes and then only wearing them twice... I would almost rather make two bodysuits (though I don't think I could swing two leather jackets) and sell her one actually fitted to her instead of me. Or we could even do something as silly as renting the costumes to you instead? XD
Hey, I know it's been forever since this comment but since D*C is coming closer I wanted to check in with you again. So far, I've pretty much put together my own Gambit, but Lauren is still deciding what to do. Our best option right now is this site that will make the entire outfit for $325:
I wanted to ask you if you could do something similar (and maybe for a little less) since I'd rather someone I know get paid than an internet stranger. I would trust the quality of the costume I'get from you.
Wow! Those Granado Espada costumes look amazing! I can't wait to see yours when you're done.
I thought about going to SDCC, but it's just not going to work out this year. Let me know how it goes and I hope you have a lot of fun there! I'm a fan of the Rogue/Gambit combination myself (the accents ♥), but I can see why Cliff might want you to do the Star Sapphire costume. :P
Good luck on all your resolutions! You and I share the "move to Atlanta" one. I hope it works out! ^^
I'm SO excited about working on them. *_* And the best part is that Cliff is pumped, too!
Awww! I wish you would... I bet Cliff would really like Tom. It'd be nice to have a couple to hang with who's just as lost as we are! lol And honestly, Cliff only recommended Star Sapphire after I asked him if GL had a love interest, because he actually really does want to cosplay as Hal Jordan (it took a lot of convincing to get him to even consider Gambit). I think we both know I don't really have the amazing body to pull her off well. @_@
Oh, I thought that was just a possibility! I didn't know it was a goal!! That's awesome!!! :DDDDD
LOL EDIT: That reminds me... when are you going to use that AMAZING body of yours to cosplay an American comic book character again??? I'm surprised you've only done girl-Joker and Cassandra Cain's Batgirl so far!
I have 2 more in progress, but...they're both still Bat-related LOL I think I need help, I'm addicted! I'd like to cosplay one (if you're looking for a partner for something) but I don't know what to do that hasn't been done to death. I hope we actually get to hang a LITTLE this DragonCon!!
Haha! Another Batgirl, maybe? Harley?? Now I'm curious!
I do a little bit of research, but Mary and Cliff are my comic-related experts. Mary researches just about every female DC and Marvel character around for costuming purposes, and Cliff reads EVERYTHING. He is a comic geek through and through. And I would absolutely LOVE doing some comic cosplay together if it would mean we get to hang out again! If you want some suggestions, just throw a few preferences at me (for example, body suit, no bodysuit, tall, abs showing/hidden, blonde hair/blue eyes, etc.) and I'll throw some ideas at you. For example, I grabbed these all from Mary, who was throwing ideas at us once:
Granado Espada is a Korean MMORPG with 5 classes (Fighter, Musketeer, Scout, Wizard, and Elementalist- a female and male for each) and MULTIPLE outfit changes for all the classes. Le Blanc is just one of the maaaaany outfits you can use. The game character designer is the Korean artist Maggi, whom I personally think can draw CIRCLES around Hyung Tae Kim. The moment I saw his work, I fell in love, and these two caaaalled to me. I probably saved this image of them over 2 years ago!
I told you I didn't think some variety of Lanterns would be a bad idea. And you can get all the rings now. Beware though they are huge and won't fit you. I've been toying with the idea of getting a set and then trying to recast them in different sizes. The only thing holding me back is spending money on the materials
( ... )
Haha, honestly, I am soooooo not crazy about Carol Ferris' Star Sapphire design, but Cliff as Hal Jordan's GL would just be the sexiest thing EVER (especially since he plans to work out a LOT if he decides to do it), so I figure if he can hit a gym for his, then I can hit a gym for mine. However, I think I would definitely go with the fake-skin suit underneath... Due to the revealing nature of the costume, the complicated, impossible design, AND the fact that I do NOT have those tits. I feel like pulling off Rogue would be SO much easier, but Cliff says GL is his favorite comic right now. I might also just wear WW when he wears GL. -_
( ... )
Well, encourage Cliff to work on Hal then if you both really want him to do that. If Star Sapphire just gets to be too much for you then I think wearing Diana with him sounds like a great back-up plan since they're both such key players in DC
( ... )
Yeah, I think I pretty much have talked myself out of that costume between posting this last night and today. XD I don't even think Cliff was really pushing me to do it, so unless he absolutely BEGS (not likely), I think she's officially dropped. I DO still want to make Gambit and Rogue, but maybe next year for D*C
