So we're all moved in. The move was last Saturday and I think it was the smoothest one either one of us has ever had. Even doing the final walkthrough with the apartment complex was very easy, which I think was helped by the fact that we were renting from a company and not from an individual landlord.
I think we've got all but two of the boxes unpacked and all of the rooms in the house are set up except the study. Danny was really busy this week practicing for the archery tournament that he spent the weekend at, so he didn't have time to put his desk together, which means that the rest of the furniture in that room is displaced for a while.
I need to figure out how to hang up pictures since the walls of this apartment are made out of that heavy old-fashioned plaster. I bet the building is easily over 50 years old. The problem with plaster walls is that if you drive a nail in, sometimes you'll end up with a very large crater instead of a nail hole.
Wedding planning is going fairly well, but there are a few things we need to get done sooner rather than later. We're meeting with the guy who made my engagement ring this week to talk about wedding bands. Danny wants a tungsten band and I'd like mine to be white gold so it matches the engagement ring. I don't feel any need to make the band fancy, though, which I think is disappointing to Danny. But c'est la vie - he'll get over it. I'm the one who has to wear it for the rest of my life, after all, so I get to decide what it looks like.
Oh! I don't know how I forgot, but the best thing about living here is that we're only 15 minutes from everything! 15 minutes from work (for me), the airport, the beach, etc. I can walk to two different grocery stores, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and a Ross.
OK, gotta get out of here if I want to make it to church on time. More later.
