The other day I was driving down Grand Avenue, and saw two kids playing in the leaves. It was probably a brother and a sister, and I imagine they were in their front yard, but I guess they also could have walked from their house. Anyway, they were throwing up the leaves, making it rain gold and red crisps. The girl had swim goggles on her forehead, which seemed so wonderful in her preparation for leaf-diving. I only saw them for about 5 seconds, but their exuberant smiles have stuck with me for over a day now, the sheer joy of dancing in autumn glory. It touched the kid within me. Made me want to run through the sprinklers like I used to when I was younger. [which I suppose I could do, it's unusually warm in the Bay for November :) ] So, I just wanted to share that lovely image with you all.
