Thought experiment for the day
In White Collar, replace Kate with Burn Notice's Fiona.
This came up because I continue, like most of the rest of fandom, to be incredibly underwhelmed by Kate. What Neal's deal is I certainly do not know, but she's a) dull and b) irritating. I mean, more cryptic notes? Credit for the origami, I guess, but seriously? Whereas if his mysterious lady friend were Fiona, I would totally buy that he was just that into her. Of course, he wouldn't be--I can't see Neal really going for someone who likes literally blowing things up--but at least the image is pretty funny. (Neal totally out of his depth and kind of terrified of his girlfriend! Fiona forced to wear multiple layers seeing as she is in the northeast!)
I also briefly enjoyed imagining Peter Burke and Michael Westen in the same show. You wouldn't think this would be mindbending--after all, there's nothing that makes the two universes incompatible--but they just kept... looking at each other, nonplussed. On the other hand, the entree for Neal into Michael's world is easy enough (he could be a friend of Barry's!) but he'd be so unhappy about it. So unhappy.
Sudden realization: Mozzie and Barry are totally buddies. Or outwardly friendly deadly rivals. One of those two.
