Okay, so. Let's say I had a file on my flash drive open, and then accidentally knocked the computer's plug out of the wall, thus requiring me to a) turn the computer back on and b) remove the flash drive without ejecting it in order to be able to turn the computer back on. Sadly no. On the plus side, I was able to recover the WiP when I opened up Word again at work, so that's good at least.

Ack, but yay for recovering something. Still, technology makes me want to hide under the nearest suitable piece of furniture. *hugs*

um, do you have microsoft?

The only idea I have is to go real old school and pull up the MS DOS prompt (command prompt) and get it to e or f or whatever it thinks your flashdrive is and do a

C:\Windows\Blah blah [whatever this says on yours]: cd f:

F:\ dir

[this should list all the directories and/or files on there]

F:\ copy *.* C:\My Documents [or whatever directory you make up to find them again]

When my hard drive blew a sector right where the boot up info was, I was able to do this and copy/save the document type files I needed before reformatting the hard drive.

Good luck!

Worth a shot. It's at work right now, actually, but I'll give this a whirl tomorrow if I can just remember to bring the thing home with me...
