Adorable phone call of the day

So I answer the phone about halfway through this morning, and after a brief silence, my father comes through on the other end. This is briefly concerning--usually if anyone calls me at work, which is rare, it's Mom--but he sounds cheerful enough, so I figure no one's dead.

Then my nephew I--who will be five at the end of this month--comes on the line.

I: *garble garble* disappear like stuff cloaks and stuff *garble garble*
ME: What'd you say?
I: If you wear the One Ring, can you walk through things, or are you just invisible?
ME: Oh! Uh, it just makes you invisible. You can still touch things and people can feel you.
DAD: He's wearing the One Ring right now.
ME: Really. Are you evil?
I: No! I'm not evil.
DAD: He got married, so that's why he's wearing it.
ME: Ah. That makes sense, then.
I: Does it make you fly or anything else?
ME: *considers, then rejects, trying to explain the idea of psychic contamination* Nope. Just makes you invisible.
I: Okay.
DAD: Do you have any other questions for Katie?
I: Nope! *click*
DAD: Guess not. Bye!
ME (laughing): Well, bye then.

It's nice to be the primary family resource for something, anyway.
