Cable internet or DSL?

Jan 05, 2007 12:40

So I have a couple of options for high-speed internet service at the new place--Comcast cable and Verizon DSL. (I'm stuck with Comcast for regular cable no matter what.) The Comcast costs an extra $13 and claims to be twice as fast; the DSL, in turn, claims to be twice as fast as the bandwidth I just measured on my connection now, which I've been basically fine with. But I haven't used DSL before, so: Is there any good reason to avoid it? Or, alternatively, to avoid Comcast as much as possible, since it's evil and all?

In other news, I wrote last night. That's twice in one week! Admittedly both were something for sg1_five_things rather than, you know, other projects I've had in process for several years, but eh, whatever. Baby steps.
