no, i'm not dead

I'm actually updating...and with good things to say!  I guess I'll go in chronological order with what has been happening.

Matt came down!  First of all,  he had never been on a plane before, but he got on one for me.  He was here for five days.  We went out to dinner a couple of times, went into downtown Dallas, took public transportation, went to an art museum, saw "Pirates of the Caribbean", he met some family members, we went for runs around the neighborhood, and some other things.  Here are some pictures of the trip for your viewing pleasure.  It was a great trip.  Good news: he's thinking of/planning on moving down here...soon.

The birthday was last week.  It was good.  I helped to build a house for Habitat for Humanity in the morning and had somewhat of a surprise party in the evening.  It was a lot of fun.  And I went out for drinks with JT and Tiffany; I'm somehow related to JT and Tiffany and I are new friends in that we both just moved here, know no one, and have an odd amount in common.  I'm going to go see "Hostel Part II" with them later today.  Part of the birthday was going to see "A Few Good Men" in Fort Worth, starring Dean Winchester himself, Jensen Ackles.  The boy looks good in a Navy uniform.  Oh, and Lou Diamond Phillips was in it too.  It was a great play.  And I sat next to some fellow LJers too, which was funny.

Oh, I got a job.  I actually got two jobs.  The first was at Snuffers's, a local restaurant, but I had to quit it because I was offered a job at Collin College working in the Foundation Department for at least 3 months, with full time potential within the college.  I'm learning a lot there about fund raising and higher ed.  It's really cool  I also have to call this guy about another job.  So things are looking good job-wise.

I'm currently looking into buying a car and renting an apartment.  Things are looking up.

birthday, job, life
