We couldn't figure out why the suet feeder kept falling from the clothes line thinking the bailer twine just wasn't strong enough or if the wind was too strong. Now we know...

This is the difference in size between a Downy Woodpecker and its much large cousin, the Pileated Woodpecker.

You know that early morning light when everything is sort of half-dark and half-light when you're half-awake and half-asleep. This welcome sight greeted me this morning. :)

More of the bridge for smwright .

This particular bridge is a favourite of mine. It was rebuilt only about 12 years ago after the other one was destroyed in a fire. It was a real sadness for the entire community.
