"It's been almost ten years since we did it."

I don't really do RPS, though I must admit to extreme temptation at the moment, but sometimes two actors do seem to play with the idea *g*. I was reading Empire, which as celebration of 20 years publishing, has a portfolio of photos of stars of some of the most important recent films. Among these is a picture of Viggo Mortensen and Sean Bean sporting horrible haircuts but bantering rather amusingly.

BEAN: "It's been almost ten years since we did it" (I take it he's referring to LOTR here!)
MORTENSEN: "It was '99 when we met. October 1999 when we first went to Wellington. It'll be ten years this autumn and I remember it was windy and rainy when I met Sean. We were both like fish out of water."
BEAN: "We were both like, "What the fuck are we doing here?""
MORTENSEN: "We went to the Green Parrot often. It was a nice regular working man's diner. You could have a bite. And this is how long ago that movie was made - you were allowed to smoke in the restaurant. Not that we smoked..."
BEAN: "We didn't like the Hobbits very much at first. We got to like them in time."
MORTENSEN: "We had to keep them down. Like wild animals."
BEAN: "Very vicious creatures. We got on well eventually. But we stuck together, Viggo and me."
MORTENSEN: "Then you died and left me holding the bag."
BEAN: "That's a great scene, though. I enjoyed that scene."
MORTENSEN: "They did change things from the book. Why couldn't they just leave him alive until the end?"
BEAN: ""Yeah, why couldn't I just get wounded?"
MORTENSEN: "We could have had so much fun when I became king!"

Er, yes I think a lot of fanfic has had you having fun *g*.

As well as Messrs Bean and Mortensen this edition of Empire has a picture of Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law as Holmes and Watson that frankly made me salivate for the forthcoming film even though RDJ is not my image of Sherlock Holmes. There is also an interview with Peter Jackson and Guillermo del Toro about the forthcoming two films of "The Hobbit" that make me really quite optimistic about it.

In other news I caved to Dreamwidth and am on there as kathyh (many smoochies to selenak) but I'm not quite set up yet. Do drop by and add me if you want to. LJ will still be my primary journal and it's very unlikely I'll make any posts there that I don't make here (once I've got it all going that is).

Have a nice weekend everybody. For once it looks as if the weather might almost be good for the Bank Holiday!
