I just finished Trouble and am now fully convinced it is the best book ever. Gary D. Schmidt is now on my "must buy" list and I'm going to go back and find all his other work.

So I just started my last review book (yes, I'm running late on these...) and I am absolutely amazed. The book is Trouble by Gary D. Schmidt (author of The Wednesday Wars).
