Tonight I insisted to Hubby that we were out of the marinade we use to make the chicken for quesadillas. We decided to just grill the chicken anyway, and while it was cooking I moaned about how I couldn't believe I hadn't checked the marinade before we went to the grocery store.
Me: I can't believe I did that. Argh.
Hubby: I'm still not sure we are out of marinade.
Me: Of course we are! I looked!
Him: Okay.
Me: Really! Look! *opens cabinet* See! One Herb & Garlic and two teriyaki-- hey. Wait. This one says chipotle... *facepalm*
This sums me up right about now. I printed out the green checklist I've titled "Ending Outlineishness" yesterday and was all ready to jump back into the story when... my brain broke. I just could not figure out what word to put next. Seriously. Usually I can type along for a little bit until I get back into the swing of things. Yesterday? And this afternoon? Not so much.
In fact, it was so bad the other day, I painted doorframes to keep from working. Yep. AND I've debated cleaning and baking and learning to stand on my head all as reasons why I simply can't finish this book right now. *sigh* Yeah, I know. Only way out is through.
So I finally pushed through a couple hours ago and got a good 1800ish words for today. I'm hoping a four hour car ride tomorrow (and 2 1/2 hours in the morning and 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon on Saturday-- annual family reunion & first time going w/ Hubby & Emmabean) will really help my production. Maybe I can even finish it within the week! (Maybe? I hope? Argh, this book is trying to kill me.)
And then I have to decide what to do for 2-3 weeks before I can revise... Yeesh. W&F2? TTOB? WSSD? Something else? (<--anyone who suggests "the ring story" will be resoundingly beaten-- this includes you, b!)
