Ok! So...
Spent all day cooped up. Was annoyed to learn that work isn't starting until Monday this week, which I'm assuming means that next week I will only have one night of vacation, and then back off to... wherever. Frig.
This week off has been... bleh. No money, due to paycheque coming this Friday, and lame paycheque due to half of it going to student loan payment. Like I said, bleh. It's going be bleh for a while, too, since the next couple of paycheques are going to tuition.
I keep hearing about cool stuff going on... like, the Ex (which I haven't been to since I was six) and people going camping for the long weekend. Not only am I broke, I just don't really feel up to anything right now.
Good stuff? Well, went to see the family a couple of times and it was very pleasant. Mom seems more... sane... lately, probably because Ben is back so she doesn't feel like it's such an empty nest. Who knows. And I think she is happy and relieved that I have a steady job. As am I. Every day I thank God that my job has nothing to do with cutlery any more.
At any rate, we seemed to have lost of fresh gossip to keep things going, which makes it easier to be around. But she is making more sense lately - less rambling - which is refreshing, haha.
Other happy things include talking on the phone with Diana. It was so so so so nice to hear from her. And to tell her everything that's gone on.
Also saw Laura on Wednesday due to being depressed, and had some Mayan hot chocolate. We also visited the giant canoe park, (No idea what it's real name is >.>) which i think is really awesome. I like that there are new landmarks being constructed. It's an exciting time to live in Toronto! Our notoriously evil mayor Ford seems to want to derail some of the fabulous projects being planned by the waterfront, but hopefully won't get away with it, since most of the projects have already been implemented.
(You see, Against the Grain? I am not bitter about being fired. I admitted that your location is fabulous. Although pretty much everyone that's been there knows that the problem is not with the location, but the management. Aka, the same problem that pretty much everywhere with a problem has.)
Anyways, what else? Went to the ROM with the bf, and it was quite entertaining. The new bat cave was sorely disappointing, though. I'm sure that my impression that it was awesome was not just because I was like, 11 the last time I was there. I made Xavier look at all the diamonds and the Opals - the geology exhibit is pretty much my favourite (now that the bat cave has lost) ...and everything was pretty entertaining. I wonder if anyone ever goes to the museum and thoroughly looks at everything. Who knows.
Today was spent watching the Indiana Jones marathon on Showcase. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull was less bad than I remember - but still pretty awful.
And in my desperation, I bought a Jillian Michaels workout DVD. Yes, I am pathetic. I keep hearing the voice of Taylor (from Taylored Training, aka my fitness hero) mocking me for not going to the park and making up my own bootcamp. But seriously, there're just too many homeless people there. It creeps me out, I'm sorry. And hearing about how Xavier got robbed just one street over makes it even worse. So yeah, no park excercising any time soon.
(Wow, I accidentally typed in "killian" when trying to look up reviews for Jillian Michael's DVD, and there're like, 10 books called "Killing Floor," listed on Amazon. Oooooooooook there.)
Hey, this DVD got really good reviews! I am muchly encouraged. Bring it on! (And poor future roommate in Kanata, since she is going to be dealing with this early int he morning, haha)
Ah, glamourous, cosmopolitan Kanata.
Love to all!!
