February 2012-Love Letters, etc. Challenge

Summary: H on the east coast; J on the west coast. Trying to adjust to life in different ways.

"Nights in white satin; never reaching the end
Letters I've written; never meaning to send..."
Things were going very well for Heath on the east coast and Jake on the west coast. They didn't see each other like it was before - and it proved to be extremely hard on both of them. The missing and wanting each other hadn't ended but life was different now. H had his Matilda; he adored her, and things with Michelle were OK too. As far as marriage went...well, we'll see.
Both young men were busy with film projects. They were eagerly sought by the film industry since Brokeback Mountain's enormous success. The Oscar snub hurt them terribly; they wanted to win and deserved to win. When the film didn't win Best Picture either it was like a blow to the stomach. Of course, they knew what had gone on. Damned Oscars!
They texted, e-mailed, phoned each other. And letters were written. But when finished, both of them usually tore them up and didn't send them. For some reason letters seemed 'girly' to them. So they went back to texting, e-mails, phone calls.
They walked the streets of their respective neighborhoods, thinking, always thinking. Thinking of each other--and the secret of a passionate love affair that began during the filming of BBM and never ended. The intense 'speculation' the press printed about them didn't end either. This made it worse; it seemed they were being forced to stay apart. Are we Ennis and Jack now?
And so it went. The awful yearning and desire inside. The knowledge that it wasn't just sex; they fought against it but it was no use. They loved each other. But their careers...this industry... Jake wasn't dating at present but he was being urged to do so for PR reasons. Just date a woman, his advisors were pressing. OK...
So they walked back home. And besides, who knows what would happen in the future? They are young, healthy, successful - H's performance as Ennis and BBM the film were already proclaimed a timeless classic - and had all the time in the world ahead of them. No need to worry really. For now they could see each other on either coast; Heath was very often in LA now; Jake had a home in NYC and his parents and sister were on both coasts. It would be hard...but for now...
Even though their hearts would often break because they weren't together, they had to endure it for now - not always. They have so many years in front of them, including a happy future. This is in front of them too.
