New Friends and Old Sadness
Just over a week ago, while attending the birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, I finally was able to meet... raving_liberal !!!!!
I know this sounds rather stalker-y, but we have a few mutual friends, and everyone speaks of her in such a nice way that I have wanted to meet her for a few years. I read her posts on LJ, and not only agree with most of her opinions, but I found her "we can agree to disagree" attitude more than a little refreshing after years of dealing with "it's my way or the highway" sort of people. I find it much more enjoyable to have a discussion about anything with someone who listens, presents his or her opinion in a respectful way, and then who does not demand that I agree with every word from his or her mouth.
I am hoping to get together with her soon, just to have adult conversation with a friendly, intelligent, nice adult.
Along a sadder note, it hit me again last week that I will never speak to Eddie. I woke up at 2am and could not get back to sleep. So I composed a letter to Eddie, expressing my mixture of emotions. I felt better afterwards, but I still could not get to sleep easily because we have skylights, and the moon was almost as bright as dawn. Ugh!!!
