It has been a very exciting week, retail-wise.

First, and most exciting - we bought a new couch! Alas, that is a supremely bad picture - the color is a much darker and prettier red, for one, and the microfiber is so soft and yummy. It was the very first thing we saw on Saturday - we saw it right when we walked in and made a beeline towards it. We then sat on it for five minutes, alternately sighing happily and discussing the fact that we totally COULD NOT buy the first thing we liked. So we wandered around for another ten or fifteen minutes, and just said to hell with it. So we have a new couch! We don't actually get it delivered until this coming Saturday - which is saaaad - but still! EXCITING STUFF, especially since our current couch Sucks Ass.

Before that, on Wednesday, Katina and I met up at the mall, supposedly to go see a prescreening of Fracture. As is our custom, we got distracted by food and talk and didn't end up going. But before meeting up, I did some shopping on my own. I got some super fucking hot jeans that make me look at least 15 pounds lighter, some super fucking hot shoes that are completely un-sensible (and also even MORE on sale than they were when I bought them, dammit), plus a couple of the Biegelow lip tints, a new tube of the MAC Lip Hydrator, and a MAC shadestick in a pretty pretty pink.

IN ADDITION. I fell truly madly deeply in love with these glasses. I haven't bought new glasses in close to ten years, and I finally got a new prescription, and I neeeeeed them. So. Yes. IN LOVE.

What else? OH! Okay. Do you have The Chair? You know, The Chair in your bedroom that really is completely useless, apart from being the place where you pile all your clothes when you're too drunk or too tired or too too lazy to hang them up and put them away? The Chair has become the bane of my existence, and so I finally vowed to banish it and put it to actual good use (like, say, at the KITCHEN TABLE). Therefore, I went to Target and got one of these (except that I stood mine up vertically). I put it together ALL BY MYSELF, with screws and nails and directions and everything, and put it where the chair was. I moved all my hair shit (curling irons, products, brushes, etc etc) off the top shelf of my bookcase and into the new shelf - on the bottom, I put in a drawer like this one (only it's dark purple), and tossed in my curlers, my two curling irons, and my straightening iron. On the upper shelf I put my products and my brushes and combs, and then on the top, I set my fancy hand mirror, my perfume-y stuff, and a couple decorative things that had been clogging my nightstand. AND THEN, I moved my big gorgeous jewelry box from the top of the dresser - where there really wasn't room for it - over to the top shelf of the bookcase - where's the plenty of room. SO! The chair is gone, and I will be forced to hang up my shit and not pile things every which way. It's v.v. exciting, seriously.

The shelf is kind of tiny, though, so I might get another one to set next to the first one. I'm sure I can find something to go in it. I am a packrat, after all.

Look how productive we were! We also got groceries, a bunch of cleaning stuff, some storage bins...

OH! ANNNNND!!! Macy's was having a gigundo sale on Saturday so we got a toaster oven (for cheaper than that!), a new fancy knife set and wok (I'd link, but I'm not sure which ones Alex bought), a fancy fancy flat sheet (it's this brand, but ours isn't listed - it's a cashmere/flannel blend, and the softest thing EVER, but they didn't have a fitted sheet that was our size, so we have to make do), and a really nice sheet set (that I cannot find online, woe).

Check it out! I feel kind of like a grown-up, buying all this stuff that's not, like, jeans and makeup (though that had its place, obviously). It was a lot of fun, and I cannot WAIT for the couch.

i'd be the best rich person, real life omg
