I have been so un-update-y lately. I'm not quite sure what my problem is, but I've been reading! I swear!
Life has been great lately. One of my most bestest friends moved to Denver from New Mexico at the beginning of the month, and now lives around the corner from us. It's been amazing, as you'd imagine - we've hung out just about every day, for at least a little while, and have had so much fun. Lots of drinking - last Tuesday was margaritas and wine and I was still a little drunk on Wednesday morning - lots of watching TV-on-DVD (she's made it all the way through the first season of How I Met Your Mother and LOVES IT HAH!), and lots and LOTS of talking. Seriously, we do not ever run out of things to talk about, which is awesome. Plus, she and Alex get along famously, and she's told me more than once that she loves hanging out with us, because she never feels like an extra wheel. Yay!
Things with Alex have been great too, though I keep feeling kind of guilty that I'm hanging out with Katina so much. But I know he's happy that I'm so happy - he knows how much I've missed having girlfriends around, and so he's not being all, "OMG YOU MUST STAY HOME WITH ME!" Which is nice. I like that he's a sane person. (And again, they get along, so that makes life easier.) We had a really nice weekend, and a really nice day yesterday. He went to his parent's in the morning to help with some yardwork, and fucked up his back. So we ran two errands, and then came home and got in bed - with the window open, because it was gorgeous - and watched some Deadwood and dozed and it was lovely.
We also saw Grindhouse twice more - on Friday night, with Katina and Neighbor Tony, and on Saturday afternoon, with Andrea's boyfriend Shaun - and I think I am officially Planet Terror-d out. It was tons more fun to watch the second time, once I knew where to look away, but the third time I was mostly just waiting and waiting for Death Proof. Plus, the Saturday afternoon audience was Made of Lame. Katina really liked Death Proof, so we're talking about going for just the Death Proof half sometime soon. PLUS! We went with some other people to see Clue at midnight on Saturday, and got hooked up with Grindhouse passes. Since we were already talking about going, we figure we'll just take advantage of the passes, and go for free.
Hmmm, what else? Work's work. The stuff that annoys me is still annoying me, but the awesomeness of the rest of it makes up for the stupid. Usually. It's not a bad way to spend my days, overall, which I appreciate.
Pop culture is making me happy at the moment. Well, mostly music is making me happy. New Kelly Clarkson! New Mandy Moore! I illegally procured Hilary Duff and Avril Lavigne's albums and they're both awesome! AND EVERYONE IS PISSED AND I LOVE IT! I love angry pop chicks. (Especially when they're angry at Zach Braff, RIGHT MANDY??) Plus I got the new Brandi Carlile album, which is gorgeous, and I've been totally obsessed with the Death Proof soundtrack (surprise), AND TV is mostly good - except I've been totally bored with TAR, as the 4 unwatched episodes on the Tivo might tell you - especially since Drive premiered last night, and was mindless fun. (And pretty - hi Santos! I love you!)
So in general? Life is good. I approve.
