Everyone is freaking out about this damn Swine Flu.
Let's get realistic shall we?
First off, I have had enough with this "Swine Influenza" bullshit. It's a swine/avian/human virus. In fact, it's not even new. Apparently we delt with a strain of flu nearly exact to the one causing everyone to freak the fuck out back in the '70s.
Follow the K.I.S.S. rule - Keep It Simple, Stupid. ALL IT IS is yet another mutated strain of the plain ol' flu.
It's really no worse than any other flu.
It's easy enough to avoid. WASH YOUR FREAKIN' HANDS and stay the fuck home if you're sick.
It's not the Spanish Influenza of the early 1900s. It's not smallpox. It's not even measels.
The media is causing some very unnecessary PANIC. With modern medicine, I highly fucking doubt that people are going to be dropping like flies off the face of the planet.
And now, my son is out of school until Thursday.
3 days closed because of a scare.
I understand "better safe than sorry," but COME ON.
They don't shut down the world every flu season, but apparently this time they do.
