master post] | Chapter One
"Tomorrow. Is. Going. To. Be. Fine," William promised Alex, for possibly the millionth time, between soft kisses along the younger boy's neck.
"You don't know that. You won't even be there," Alex argued quietly.
"I do know that and I'd be there if I could."
Alex scoffed, "Bill, you hated high school."
"I hated it until you," he replied seriously.
"I was just an innocent freshman," Alex sighed dreamily. He was only joking, of course.
William smiled, "I was a dorky junior."
"You were a beautiful junior and, now, you're a beautiful freshman. Again."
William sighed, "Just, now, it's in college rather than high school." Alex wrapped his arms a bit tighter around Will's small frame as he thought of the upcoming year. It would be interesting, if nothing else.
"William?"
"Yes, Lexy?"
"I'm glad you caught me." William laughed. He laughed loudly. Alex was referring to their meet-cute. Alex was, as aforementioned, an innocent, new freshman at Desert Vista High School and he, so smoothly, managed to fall down a flight of stairs on his second day. William, who had been standing not far off, saw Alex tumbling down, and couldn't not rush over to help the poor boy.
William sighed wistfully, "Oh, me too, Alex; me too."
"You really think tomorrow's going to be okay?"
"Alex," William said, sitting up abruptly. "Things will be fine. I promise you, they will be, but you've got to stop being this insecure little boy that has to ask his boyfriend for reassurance every five minutes. You're Alex Gaskarth, Alex fucking Gaskarth. You can do anything you damn well please and most of the time you do. You're cocky and arrogant ninety-five percent of the time and you don't let any bitch push you around," William stopped to catch his breath. He did that sometimes; spoke too much and forgot to breathe.
"What's your point, Beckett?" Alex asked, sounding a bit more like himself.
"My point is, you're a million things more than I was in high school and I made it, which means you fucking can too." Alex bit his lip happily.
"Thanks," he mumbled.
"Anytime," William said, still a bit out of breath as he leant up to press his lips to Alex's. "Now, get some sleep. You have school in the morning," he whispered against the blonde’s lips. Alex rolled his eyes & pushed William away playfully, only to pull him back in before settling in to a peaceful sleep.
