Character Memes (Part One)
Okay, I’m running a little behind on these but here are my first two. dinuriel tagged me for Nina and dinoshad2brains tagged Kaylynn.
LJ cut title inspired by the Kelis song currently playing, but without further ado...
Dina Goth (nee Caliente)
1. She is the older twin. She has wondered more than once if she would be a different person if she were the younger sister.
2. She watches what even she feels is an unhealthy amount of daytime TV. She considers this a
left over habit from getting up early with Michael and then not having anything to do during the day.
3. Dina forgets to think of herself as a parent. When someone asks about her son she feels tremendous guilt for not thinking of him constantly.
4. Her nervous habit is nail biting. She ended up having to have acrylic nails applied to hide the damage she had done to her natural nails. She still has acrylics applied; as she knows she won’t bite them because she doesn’t want to have to explain the damage to her manicurist.
5. Dina did want to sleep with Don Lothario, but didn’t as she is certain her sister loves him even if she denies it and would dare risk hurting her sister.
6. In high school, Dina suffered from bulimia. Her sister found out and told their parents immediately. Whenever Nina makes a joke about Dina’s weight, she knows it’s her sister’s way of telling her she’s keeping an eye on her.
7. Dina is certain her father preferred Nina over her. She decided this was because her sister was red haired like their mother while she was blonde.
8. Her first ever crush was on a teacher. Watching him in comparison to the childish boys in her class, she knew she could only ever be with an older man.
9. Michael would always give her small gifts. When Nina made a smart arsed remark that he was just buying her affection, Dina didn’t speak to her sister for four months.
10. Dina didn’t meet Michael’s family until after he died. Her sister in-law, Bella Goth, appeared on the doorstep of her and Michael’s home claiming authority over her brother’s estate. She took everything from Dina, right down to the Bachelor surname. Dina regrets to this day that she was too young and naive to question what was happening.
Kaylynn Capp (nee Langerak)
Although I don’t have Sims 3, and despite the fact that if you actually worked along with that given timeline Kaylynn would be older than Mortimer; I do try to incorporate the backstory establish in the Sims 3 when I can.
1. After her father ran off with her aunt, her brother skipped town and her mother had a mental breakdown she was sent to live with her maternal grandmother. Grandmother Mae was a very old fashioned woman who had strong feelings about the role women were meant to play. This is reflected in Kaylynn’s excellent cooking and cleaning abilities.
2. Grandmother Mae sent her to Sunday school every week. Although Kaylynn doesn’t consider herself catholic, she still feels the occasional pang of guilt over her pre-marital relations.
3. When her brother was still a child, he would happily play with sister as long as they played his games. She guesses her interest in tinkering comes from the many hours she had Parker spent playing with toy trains and meccano.
4. She has utterly no interests in politics which comes from apathy rather than a lack of understanding. Although when it comes up in conversation she prefers to pretend she’s clueless and trying to explain that she doesn’t care.
5. She excelled at school but her grandmother considered University a waste of time and that it would only intimidate any future husbands.
6. She is very environmentally conscious. She has, on more than a few occasions, separated the recyclable products from the rubbish in her client’s homes.
7. She knew who Daniel Pleasant was long before she started cleaning his home. She had gotten his autograph when she was much younger and he was playing in the Minor League. She asked him once if he remembered but of course he hadn’t. She though had been enamoured with him since that very moment .
8. It was only after several glasses of wine she relented to Don’s fantasy of having sex in a public place. It really wasn’t that great, apparently unlike Don, she found the idea of being caught mortifying.
9. Her luxury item and gift to herself is quality high thread sheet sets. She knows it’s ridiculous to pay such an excessive amount for bed linen but she likes to think she could have worse indulgences.
10. Keeping her surroundings clean and tidy is a form of control for Kaylynn. She believes you can only be at your best in healthy and functional environment.
