I know it's not Thanksgiving, but...
I am thankful today.
• For my country ~ I don't always agree with what we do or how we come across to the rest of the world, but I am grateful for all this country offers.
• For my children ~ They argue, they laugh, they leave a mess everywhere they go, and they've got great, kind hearts and bright, shiny minds. I am well and truly blessed.
• For my husband ~ He's not really back to normal - his short-term memory is weirdly inconsistent - but he's still here. Life FTW!
• For my friends ~ In RL and online, I've had such wonderful, funny, tear-inducing support over the past six months that it's hard not to get all gooey and emotional. {{hugs}} to all of you -- even my oh-so-proper and reserved British friends. ;D
• For the holiday ~ When else are we encouraged to set things on fire and blow them up? Heh -- I love living where fireworks are legal. And we've got a nice evening planned with our much-beloved next-door neighbors: Lots of food (ribs, bratwurst, cornbread, hummus & veggies, Limoncello sorbet, and more!) and explosives. The perfect evening!
